Pleasure knows no upper limits – but one pinnacle of contentment can be achieved at icy heights of 2,800 metres above sea level at the Mölltaler Glacier.  This is where the Panoramarestaurant Eissee is nestled at the glacier’s edge, an impressive glass and steel construction and considered by many to have the „best culinary outlook“ in a long time: The first lifts up to the Mölli start early at 8.30 hrs, where you can carve in powder conditions to your heart’s content. Those wanting to have breakfast in the presence of 30 three thousand metre peaks should visit Austria’s highest conservatory, where „Media chef“ Klaus Laber serves traditional Carinthia specialities for lunch: Sitting on the wonderful sun terrace, you can savour delicious dishes such as cheese noodles with browned butter, smoked meat dumplings with sauerkraut, crunchy roast pork or a crown of lamb with corn cakes. You may even be seated at the table next to a World Cup ski star currently in training at the Mölli. Round off your meal with a “Kärntner Reindling” desert or a portion of ‘Buchteln’ – sweet yeast dumplings with vanilla sauce, before heading back to the powder pistes between 2,200 and 3,122 metres altitude. You can ski all year round at Carinthia’s only glacier resort. Speed skiers particularly enjoy the carver test track and FIS race course. The 4 seater chair lifts on the 2,942 metre high Alteck now access three new runs. Neighbouring Mount Ankogel, which partners Mount Mölli in being one of Carinthia’s highest ski mountains, joins the ski fun in December. The Ankogel entices skiers with summit slopes ideal for making wide turns and a fabulous beginner’s area for families in the valley. Children up to the age of six years can ski for free and kids and teens up to the age of 18 years receive a generous 50 percent discount.
